I had to look this up: "Among USL League One’s returning nonet..." Bravo! on slipping in a musical composition reference into pro soccer! USL would do well to embrace music as a differentiator from that other pro soccer league in the U.S.!!

Two questions for you, John:

- why do you think the Red Wolves have been so raided in the off-season? Is it a simple matter of economics --selling off all higher paid players? Or just a philosophical decision to start with a clean slate (e.g. due to coach or GM change)?

- why is Portland focusing so much on domestic, newly graduated college players for much of their roster including their entire attack? Is this also an economic decision, or because it's so difficult to persuade central/ south-american imports to play in frigid Maine??

Chattanooga *did* get a new GM, but this feels like they just got outbid across the board. They needed a change somewhere, but it wasn't up top.

I think Portland's roster build is a philosophy thing. You see clubs like Charleston and Louisville almost always signing domestic players in USLC without ever missing a beat - some managers just prefer to add guys they can scout locally.
