Definitely planning on writing about y’all in the next week or two…I think the short answer is that the rest of L1 has figured out how to disrupt your patterns in possession. Texoma and Alta played really aggressively up to the edge of the 18-yard box with a forward and three/four mids, and there was a real hesitance to play over that press – and you saw big mistakes happen as a result.
Agreed, I feel like Portland did it first/best but it’s become more common/consistent to struggle building up. Slight personnel issues (injuries up front pushed Walmer Martinez up from LB, & Martinez/Cruz is a nasty attacking FB combo), but not the kind that should fully derail us by themselves. As a fan, hoping our homestand after Chattanooga gives us time to tinker & get back on track.
